Despite initial doubts about the Time Warner Center, the Columbus Circle development has been a boon, both for its retailers as well as nearby property owners. About 40,000 people, locals as well as tourists, visit daily, spending an average of $78 per trip. Since opening in 2004, retail rents in the surrounding area have increased by 400 percent, and at least eight new condominiums have been developed in a five-block radius, including 15 Central Park West.
