Vornado isn’t known for its residential developments, other than the Bloomberg building at One Beacon Court. Now Steven Roth’s company has opened an on-site office at the orange-brick 40 East 66th Street, a restored 12-story building built in 1929 and designed by Rosario Candela, known for luxury apartment buildings of that era. The lobby’s vaulted ceiling, patterned floors and marble walls have been restored, as well as the apartments’ white oak herringbone patterned floors, wood-burning limestone fireplaces and formal dining rooms. The units, which are all three-bedrooms with about 2,450 square feet, are starting at $6 million. Architectural firm CetraRuddy did the renovation, and Corcoran is handling sales. TRD
