Plan to move homeless intake center to Brooklyn slammed

Borough President Marty Markowitz says “Brooklyn is being dumped on!” because the Bloomberg administration plans to move the city’s central intake center for homeless men from Manhattan’s East Side to Crown Heights. The city wants to move the intake center from its tony 30th Street property, which it hopes to develop into a boutique hotel. Opponents say they will push to stop the move in Albany and the City Council.
