Schumer gives development a push

Sen. Charles Schumer said he wants to give city development projects “a push” towards completion. Schumer, who helped secure over $130 million from Congress for the proposed new Amtrak station, wants the Port Authority to take over the troubled Moynihan Station project. “It’s harder and harder to build big projects, and yet that’s always been part of New York’s greatness,” Schumer said. “New York used to be known for grand public works, but in the last 15 or 20 years it has sort of come to a standstill.”
