An 80-year-old church in Bay Ridge could be sold to a developer and torn down because it can’t afford its maintenance. Next to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church On Fourth Avenue, the Bay Ridge Jewish Center voted to replace an old synagogue that can accommodate 600 worshipers with a smaller temple, and sell the remaining land to a developer. The congregation at 108-year-old Bay Ridge Methodist Church also wants to tear down the church for a smaller parish and condos.
