The Port Authority’s chief, despite taking over the rebuilding of the World Trade Center, is keeping another job on the side. Christopher Ward was named to the board of the New York Independent System Operator, the nonprofit that manages the state’s power grid, just before becoming head of the PA. The job was supposed to pay $100,000, but Ward has cut back on his hours with the board and probably took a pay cut. Ward earns $286,702 a year at the PA.
