The sale of a century-old six-story townhouse at 127 East 73rd Street designed by Stanford White has closed for $32.5 million, well under its $38 million listing price. The Observer previously reported that Thomas Montag, formerly the co-head of securities trading at Goldman Sachs, was buying the property. The six-bedroom townhouse has a basketball court, a big media room, a steam bath and a climate-controlled wine cellar. The sale appeared in city property records today. TRD
