A member of the board at BellTel Lofts in Downtown Brooklyn has confirmed that the cast of “The Real World” won’t be moving in. The MTV reality show is supposed to start filming in September, and the production crew was nervous about BellTel’s construction delays. The cast is reportedly moving Red Hook, but an MTV spokesperson would only say “The Real World” will be in Brooklyn, and will start airing in January 2009. Red Hook developer Greg O’Connell said he couldn’t discuss the show but added that he had “signed some papers.” A worker at Pier 41 On Van Dyke Street told Metro the show was moving there. MTV had signed a lease for three floors at BellTel Lofts: two $3-million duplex penthouses on the 26th and 27th floors for the cast, and the 25th floor for the production crews.
