Homeowners renting their apartments and houses to film and TV crews can make $500 to $10,000 a day, depending on the duration and size of production. And being featured in film can act as a marketing tool for some buildings and give the homeowners some extra cash, but it’s not always easy to turn a room into a film set. Some homeowners have watched their living rooms transform into a new location, and sometimes set on fire. In this month’s issue, The Real Deal talked with film and TV location scouts.
