Costco faces fight on UWS

Extell Development wants to bring a Costco store to the West Side Highway, between West 59th and 61st streets, but it will be an uphill climb. Two past attempts at bringing Costco to Manhattan have failed, and some city council members are concerned about traffic and oppose rezoning the area for the store. Costco would be part of Extell’s 3.3 million-square-foot residential development, Riverside South.
