Rangel touts deal on 400 affordable apartments

Congressman Charles Rangel, who has gained notoriety for holding leases on four rent-stabilized apartments in a single Harlem building, held a press conference yesterday to announce a deal to keep nearly 400 Harlem apartments affordable. Rangel and others persuaded four of six landlords not to opt out of the government-subsidized Section 8 program.
