Brooklyn Bridge rink on hold

An ice rink planned for under the Brooklyn Bridge is in limbo because the city Department of Transportation plans to use the property for storage. The acre of land was included in plans for the 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park. The Purchase Building, an Art Deco structure, was demolished there last month, despite attempts by preservationists to save it. The DOT says it needs the property for a five-year rehab of the bridge.
