LiMandri promoted to DOB commissioner

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has promoted Robert LiMandri from acting to permanent buildings commissioner. The promotion became possible yesterday after the City Council changed the requirements for the position, stating the commissioner no longer had to be a licensed engineer or architect. LiMandri has an engineering degree, but is not licensed. He takes the position after Patricia Lancaster resigned under pressure in April after two crane accidents killed nine people.
