Critics call for parking limits 

A coalition of environmentalists and transit advocates has released a report that claims Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s PlaNYC 2030 is threatened by required parking spaces for new developments. Car owners are expected to add 170,000 new vehicles by 2030, which the report said would mostly erase any gains in carbon reduction. The coalition calls for replacing parking requirements with a cap on parking spaces for developments near public transit.
