Some sellers going it alone

As apartment prices decline, sellers are trying to recoup some of their losses by not using real estate salespersons and saving on the commission. NY1’s Tara Lynn Wagner talks to Jim and Mary Kocis, who have been trying to sell their East 84th Street co-op without a broker and relocate to Connecticut. While the Kocises and several other couples say they are saving money by not using brokers, brokers say they can sell homes faster and have better knowledge of the market than do sellers.
