Celebrities’ Hamptons real estate eroding

Several celebrities’ beachfront homes in Wainscott, a hamlet in the Hamptons, are eroding into the ocean. At cosmetics heir and former mayoral candidate Ronald Lauder’s house, the foundation is already exposed. The stairway leading from the backyard to the beach has eroded at the mansion of Marci Klein, daughter of Calvin Klein and a producer for “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock.” Land Planning Services, a consultant group hired by Wainscott homeowners, including Klein and Lauder, received emergency permits last week to re-sand the dunes.
