Rare Bar & Grill to open at Wyndham Hotel

Douglas Boxer, owner of the Rare Bar & Grill, plans to open another location of the eatery at the new Wyndham Hotel, now under construction on West 26th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues. The restaurant will have a 1,000-square-foot lobby bar on the ground floor and a 3,000-square-foot restaurant below grade. And on the hotel’s top floor, Boxer is creating a 3,000-square-foot rooftop lounge called the Chelsea View. Boxer has a similar setup at the Shelburne Hotel, at 303 Lexington Avenue at 37th Street, where there is a Rare Bar & Grill in the hotel as well as a rooftop lounge, called the Rare View. There’s another Rare Bar & Grill at 228 Bleecker Street, at Downing Street.
