Two Brooklyn buildings were evacuated early this morning after a partial roof collapse at 217 Court Street in Cobble Hill. The four-story building was unoccupied, according to the New York City Fire Department, but the adjacent buildings were evacuated and the gas was shut off. Fire officials attributed the collapse to the weight of recent rain. Most or all of 217 Court Street will now likely need to be demolished. There were no injuries reported.
