The Discovery Channel’s “Construction Intervention” hit Carroll Gardens this week, transforming the deteriorating and long-shuttered Vermont Market & Pharmacy on the corner of Henry Street and Sackett streets into Brooklyn Farmacy. The show, which employs crews to makeover down-on-their-luck businesses or commercial spaces, also recently revitalized Harlem’s Just Wingin’ It restaurant. Charles Frattini, the show’s host and a Canarsie native said they had to transform every detail from structural beams to bathrooms. The cost of the four-day job, which crews were finishing up yesterday, came in at around $450,000, Frattini said. [Post]
