Tennis club doubles with condo developer

West Side Tennis Club

It’s love-love for a developer and the owners of the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, Queens, where a decaying tennis stadium could become a luxury condo development, according to the Wall Street Journal. After announcing last month that it was looking for a company to build up the site, the tennis club said it’s in talks with Cord Meyer Development, which could buy the site for as much as $9 million. If the deal goes through, Cord Meyer will keep part of the stadium in place, while using the rest of the property for a condominium project. While the city still has to weigh in on how many units can be built on the property, an Aug. 10 meeting is scheduled to review architectural renderings for the development. [WSJ]
