New hotel set for Times Square

A new hotel is slated to open in Times Square, according to Hotel Chatter, with an opening date set for Oct. 11. The Pearl New York, a member of the Empire Hotel Group, which also owns the Belvedere, the Newton and the Belnord hotels in New York City, includes 94 rooms. This announcement comes on the heels of another — much larger — hotel opening in Times Square. The 607-room InterContinental Hotel Times Square opened this summer, with the popular burger chain Shake Shack opening on its ground floor. [Hotel Chatter]
