Foreclosure rates in New York-White Plains-Wayne increased in October, with the rate of foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans coming in at 5.38 percent, an increase of 0.91 percentage points compared to October 2010 when the rate was 4.47 percent, according to newly released data from CoreLogic. The mortgage delinquency rate for the area also increased, according to the data. About 8.5 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent in October compared to 8.26 percent for the same period last year, an increase of 0.23 percent. — Katherine Clarke
