A senior official at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation has sold his Tribeca spread for $6.32 million, the New York Observer reported. Thomas Krens bought the penthouse at 45 Warren Street in 1999 for $2.35 million, and considered parting with it in 2005, listing it then at $5.5 million, the Observer said.
Krens bought the apartment with the help of an interest-free $1.5 million loan from the Guggenheim Foundation, at which he served formerly as director. He is now the foundation’s senior adviser for international affairs. City records, cited by the Observer, show that Krens repaid the loan in full in 2007.
The buyers of the four-bedroom, which was listed at $7 million, according to Streeteasy.com, were Andrew and Alison Isaacs. Amalia Ferrante of the Corcoran Group had the listing. [NYO] — Guelda Voien
