A pair of Brooklyn developers is treating Greenpoint condominium developments like volumes in a book series.

Krzysztof Rostek and his partner Mariola Zaremba are constructing dozens of similar buildings in the neighborhood, all of them named Belvedere followed by a Roman numeral, the New York Times reported. The latest is Belvedere LXX on Eckford Street.

The partners have built almost three dozen over the past 10 years, most of them in Greenpoint, and with familiar features such as a reddish brick façade, two white columns and balconies.

Condos at Belvedere LXX, built of burgundy brick, have not hit the market yet. A Belvedere apartment in Greenpoint usually starts at $400,000, and all are under eight stories high.

“Most buildings are so anonymous — they just have numbers,” Zaremba told the Times. “I wanted to create something everybody was going to remember.” [NYT]Mark Maurer
