French contemporary-art gallery Galerie Perrotin will merge culture with a history of commerce when it settles into a 4,300-square-foot space at the Bank of New York building.
The three-story property at 909 Madison Avenue, near 73rd Street, on the Upper East Side will serve as the site of the gallery’s first New York branch. Art dealer Emmanuel Perrotin plans to throw a carnival-themed party there on Sept. 17, with some of the artists he represented manning the booths. His clients include Maurizio Cattelan and Takashi Murakami.
Last year, fashion retailer Rag & Bone grabbed 9,000 square feet there, as previously reported.
