LIC’s soon-to-be tallest building gets new renderings

Developer Chris Jiashu Xu unveiled a fresh look at the Long Island City skyscraper poised to be Queens’ tallest.

The condominium development at 23-15 44th Drive is slated to have 800 condo units across 66 stories, 6sqft reported. Xu’s United Construction & Development Group filed plans for the building in February, after paying $143 million to Citigroup for the site in July 2015.

Dubbed Court Square City View Tower, the building will feature 360-degree views of Manhattan, an all-glass curtain wall facade, a spa, fitness center, yoga room and sauna, according to the website. There will also be a pool and a private entrance to the 7 train station.

Architects Hill West, formerly known as Goldstein, Hill & West, said the building is a “sleek, monolithic structure,” and that they used two shades of glass to create a building that “appears to expose its special interiors beyond its glassy exterior.”

Construction at the site has begun and is due to be complete in 2018, according to the website.
