Local restaurateur Louie Lanza wants to build a 40-room hotel in downtown Peekskill. His plans for the space formerly occupied by the state Workers’ Compensation Board include 10,000 square feet of space for the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art — to be renamed Hudson Valley MoCa if it’s approved. Lanza and his partners bought the 35,000-square-foot building at 41 North Division Street at auction last year. The Peekskill City Council gave the proposal a warm reception, Lohud reported. [Lohud]
