The transformation of Culver City into a “tech mecca” is intensifying, with firms like Apple and Amazon signing major deals there in recent months. During The Real Deal’s Westside Spotlight last week, a panel of experts discussed the city’s evolution from “blue collar city” into a destination for the country’s top tech firms.
The panel, which included Kacy Keys (Seritage), Tom Wulf (Lowe), Tami Pardee (Halton + Pardee and Partners), Steve Fifield (Fifield Companies) and Jeffrey Cooper (mayor, Culver City), also explored the challenges surrounding L.A.’s affordable housing shortage. Fifield pegged it as a “workforce housing shortage” that affects middle-income earners.
