Some of the biggest parties of the Hamptons summer season are getting the kibosh, according to the New York Post.
Washington Post heiress Lally Weymouth has canceled her annual Fourth of July party in Southampton, a bash that regularly attracted scores of powerful politicians from both sides of the aisle, celebrities, and finance titans. The annual gala and art auction at the Watermill Center is also canceled.
Smaller parties are also on hold, meaning there’s little work available for the caterers who make their living serving caviar, champagne, and other delicacies at parties and events across the East End. [NYP] — Dennis Lynch
