Hamptons residents who invited friends and family to their homes to ride out the coronavirus pandemic are having a hard time asking them to leave, according to Vanity Fair.
Some hosts say their guests don’t want to leave their cushy surroundings while others say visitors have become petrified of their old world. More than a few do not realize they have worn out their welcome.
“Wouldn’t you think the person would say, ‘Is it okay that I’m still here?’ But the silence is deafening,“ said one host. “She got scared, then barnacled onto our life. She regressed into a child in a big, bad world with disease and looters.” [Vanity Fair] — Dennis Lynch
