San Francisco condo with sauna asks record $24.5M

The most expensive condo in San Francisco may also be one of the healthiest.

The recently built ultra-luxury residence is the only penthouse unit available at The Pacific, an office complex turned into luxury housing in Pacific Heights, Mansion Global reported. One of five penthouses, the unit’s $24.5 million price tag makes it the city’s most expensive condo listing. The Pacific is on the corner of Webster and Sacramento streets at 2121 Webster Street.

The penthouses were delivered to buyers as blank canvases and each has had millions of dollars of work. Four of the owners plan to move in, while the fifth’s is international and doesn’t plan to live there.

The available unit, which took three years to design and build, has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, a sauna and infrastructure amenities such as wall-mounted panels that control climate, lighting, shading, entertainment media and security systems.

The 5,310-square-foot condo has a contemporary look with warm finishes like walnut millwork and travertine floors. Flooring in the northern bedrooms and windows throughout shield it from external electro-magnetic frequencies, according to the listing.

“Every building material is 100 percent certified organic and toxin-free,” listing agent Gregg Lynn of Sotheby’s International Realty said. “It ensures that your family is breathing the healthiest air possible.”

The unit also has an “oversized” primary bedroom wing with a walk-in closet and full bathroom with a freestanding Sophstone tub and large shower. There are two en-suite guest rooms, a nearby laundry room, hall storage and a service entrance and corridor.

The unit also boasts trapezoid-shaped bay windows that offer a “treetop” view of the city’s southern skyline and the Golden Gate bridge.
