Acme plans to close one supermarket in Westchester County and three supermarkets in New Jersey, LoHud reported. The Eastchester outpost will close on Nov. 4, and the Elmwood Park, Woodcliff Lake and Weehawken outposts will close on Oct. 2, the outlet reported. “Like all retailers, we are constantly evaluating our store portfolio and have to look at every angle of the business,” Acme spokesperson Dana Ward said in an email. “These stores have not met our goals for a number of years, and we have made the decision to deploy the team and resources to other locations to serve our customers.” Chuck Lanyard, the president of retail-focused real estate brokerage firm Goldstein Group, told the outlet he predicted other supermarket chains would move into the soon-to-be-vacant spaces.
