Amazon set to open new distribution center on Long Island

Amazon is opening a new distribution center in Carle Place on Long Island, Long Island Business News reported. Officials from the e-commerce behemoth told the Carle Place Civic Association’s board that the company has inked a 15-year lease for a 7.4-acre property on Westbury Avenue. The site was formerly home to a Waldbaum’s supermarket and was recently purchased by Brisbane-Steel Carle Place LLC, according to the outlet. The center is expected to be up and running by “the fall of this year.” [LIBN]
