The owner of an East Hampton home is in a legal battle with PSEG [Public Service Enterprise Group] over a 55-foot pole set to be installed in front of their house, Newsday reported. PSEG Long Island installed hundreds of poles between Amagansett and East Hampton several years ago as part of “a plan to harden the electric grid,” but came up with a new plan to bury utility lines and reduce the height of nearly two dozen of the poles after residents voiced objections. The new plan, however, will involve setting up the 55-foot pole in front of Daniel and Yvonne Ujvari’s three-bedroom house. Daniel Ujvari is now suing PSEG and East Hampton town and village in hopes that PSEG will relocate the “monster pole.” [Newsday]
