The son of billionaire real estate mogul Sheldon Solow bought the famed Chequit hotel in Shelter Island at auction for a yet-to-be-disclosed price, Northforker reported. Stefan Soloviev and his ex-wife Stacey Soloviev were the buyers. The Chequit, located near the ferry, last traded hands for $3.35 million six years ago. The former owners, David Bowd and Kevin O’Shea, undertook an extensive renovation of the property before putting it up for auction. Stefan Soloviev already owns several properties on the North Fork, including the Peconic Bay Winery. [Northforker]
