Dakota Partners to delay Newington apartment complex over tax breaks

Dakota Partners plans to delay construction on a 108-unit apartment complex planned in Newington over tax credits, according to the Hartford Business Journal.

Dakota was seeking $2 million in federal low-income tax credits for the $32 million Cedar Pointe project, but in March the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority did not select it for the tax break.

The developer and the town’s planning board were in court for nine months following the latter’s rejection of the project over safety concerns. A judge sided with Dakota last year.
