Hamptons restaurants need to open soon to survive: officials

Hamptons officials want Gov. Andrew Cuomo to ease restrictions on restaurant openings, according to the New York Post. Restaurants are set to open in the state’s second phase of re-opening, which could be around the end of June.

Suffolk County officials asked Cuomo in a letter to allow openings soon, arguing it “could be the difference between [restaurants] surviving this economic crisis or closing down permanently.”

Hamptons residents seem desperate for good grub. Some New York City restaurants are even operating Hamptons delivery services. Food is brought from the city in refrigerated trucks and delivered with heating instructions. [NYP] — Dennis Lynch
