The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership is expected to release renderings of what Downtown Brooklyn will look like in 2012 after the completion of 56 planned projects that will build 14,300 new residential units, 1,800 hotel rooms and 3.2 million square feet of office and retail space. The $9.5 billion worth of developments includes the Atlantic Yards mega-project and the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s planned $500 million cultural district, which calls for mixed-use buildings with mixed-income housing. Trees and condo towers are planned for Flatbush Avenue.
