Battery Park’s Pier A to get $30M overhaul

The Economic Development Corporation plans to announce this week that the Battery Park City Authority will undertake the $30 million renovation of Pier A, the historic Victorian building near Battery Park. The authority would sell bonds to pay for the project and lease the 122-year-old structure for 50 years, for $1 per year. After renovations, shops and restaurants would be opened.
