The Chetrit Group, owned by Joseph Chetrit, has closed on its purchase of the landmarked 5 Beekman Street for $61 million, according to city records. The Post reported in January that Chetrit and Bonjour Capital was considering turning the 10-story, twin-towered building into a hotel. When built in 1883, the building was just the city’s third to have an elevator installed. The seller was Ruby Schron of Cammeby’s International. TRD
