Homeless man finds Freedom Tower plans in trash

The Post reports that a homeless man found confidential blueprints for the planned Freedom Tower in a Soho trash can. The 150-page schematic was found in a garbage can the corner of West Houston and Sullivan streets. The documents contain such details as plans for each floor, the thickness of the concrete-core wall and the location of air ducts, elevators, electrical systems and support columns. A Port Authority official said the blueprints were out-dated and not very detailed, but an architect said they were enough to give terrorists ideas. “An expert in explosives, demolition or biological weapons certainly could glean enough here to develop a game plan,” Steve Yang said. “You can see where all the concrete walls are, where the emergency stairwells are, and the electrical and HVAC systems.”
