Developer has faith in Staten Island

Developer Leib Puretz is building seven projects in Staten Island’s St. George, near the ferry terminal, that will bring 600 condos and retail space to the area. Puretz’ 57-unit condo the Pointe, though priced around $500 per square foot, has sold only about a third of its apartments since hitting the market last year. Despite slow sales now, Puretz and his Staten Island-based brokerage, Casandra Properties, remain bullish on the area in the long-term.
