Fillmore Real Estate closes offices

Brooklyn-based residential real estate firm Fillmore Real Estate has closed two of its
offices, the 486 Fifth Avenue space, which merged with the firm’s Atlantic
Avenue office November 15, and the 696 Grand Street office, which shuttered
in September.

CEO John Reinhardt
said the company downsized partly because it had more offices than it
needed. According to the
firm’s Web site, Fillmore, which was founded in 1966, has 18 offices
and 314 agents. “I think we had too many locations. Now with the advent of
technology you just don’t need the physical location.”

At the same
time, Reinhardt said the firm has attracted additional agents since the
two offices closed and has been in discussions with several smaller
companies about consolidating. “We’ve been bringing in quite a few
smaller companies into our fold,” Reinhardt said. TRD
