Columbia University is finishing the northwest corner of its main
campus in Morningside Heights with a 14-story science building at
Broadway and 120th Street, 113 years after construction began on that
part of the campus. The $179 million building will be topped off in a ceremony Wednesday and will be open in the fall of 2010. The building was designed by Jose Rafael Moneo, a Spanish architect. The building will have a street entrance and include a cafe and gathering space.
