Brooklyn renters increasingly interested in Fort Greene

In the fourth quarter, Fort Greene received 31 percent of inquiries
from prospective renters, putting it second after Park Slope on the list of areas in downtown Brooklyn attracting tenants, according to a report released today by Brooklyn-based residential and commercial firm Ideal Properties Group. In the third quarter, only 11 percent of prospective renters looked in Fort Greene.
Sixty-two percent of people who looked at residential rental units in downtown Brooklyn in the third quarter already lived in Brooklyn. Of prospective Brooklyn renters, 12 percent lived in Manhattan and 18 percent were from outside of the state. The report defines downtown Brooklyn as the area stretching from Park Slope to Brooklyn Heights, and also including Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights and Fort Greene. TRD
