A 448-square-foot staff
studio at 15 Central Park West recently sold for $1.55 million, which
is close to the average selling price of a two-bedroom apartment in Manhattan,
according to fourth quarter figures compiled by Prudential Douglas
Elliman. The buyer was Alexander Mikhailov, who bought a three-bedroom
unit on the 34th floor last year for $7.85 million. There are 27 staff studios — which can be occupied by maids, butlers or other staff — in the complex, and the average price
is $3,460 per square foot. Mikhailov paid more per square foot for the
studio than his own apartment.
