Gunn of “Project Runway” buys $1.5M unit

Fashion consultant and Project Runway advisor Tim Gunn bought a two-bedroom Upper West Side penthouse for $1.5 million.

The
1,765-square-foot apartment in the Manhattan Tower Condominium, at 203
West 90th Street at Amsterdam Avenue, includes a 527-square-foot terrace, and
was listed for $1.595 million by Stribling & Associates.

Gunn closed on the purchase March 31, after going into contract in February, city property records released today show.

As
well as serving as mentor on Bravo Media’s Project Runway, he joined
Liz Claiborne as chief creative officer at the company in 2007. Project Runway will leave Bravo for Lifetime Networks this summer for its sixth season.

He was formerly chair of the Department of Fashion Design at Parsons the New School for Design, where “Project Runway” contestants worked on their fashion creations.
