Dock Street developers donate to City Council, get project approval

Developers David and Jed Walentas of the Dock Street project in Dumbo, and employees and relatives of their company Two Trees, donated
$82,550 to members of the City Council in the 2009 election cycle, the
New York Daily News reported. Speaker Christine Quinn got $34,650 and
Council member Melinda Katz got $29,700. Both Council members then supported
the Dock Street project, which passed the Council in a 40-9 vote, the Daily News said.
