CB Richard Ellis once again nabbed the top spot on Crain’s biannual list of top office leasing deals in Manhattan. The commercial services firm represented parties in nearly half of the top 50 biggest deals. CBRE was top dog last year as well. But in 2008, the company’s transactions totaled 4.9 million square feet, over 3 million square feet more than this year’s tally. “We think in a down market, more so than ever, market share matters,” said Matthew Van Buren, executive managing director at CBRE. Studley, Newmark Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield all finished strong as well. Studley negotiated seven deals in the top 50; Newmark and Cushman each brokered 13 deals.
