Sagaponack seller jacks up price $1.5M three days after home hits market

A homeowner in Sagaponack, a small town on the East End of Long Island, has decided to increase the price of his oceanfront home by $1.5 million after only three days on the market.

The 5,000-square-foot home on Daniels Lane was listed on Streeteasy.com Friday for $10 million and is now listed for $11.5 million. The broker marketing the property, Town & County Real Estate’s John Healey, would not identify the homeowner or the exact address.

“The price increase was because he was firm on the first price and you have to take into consideration negotiation. In other words, if someone wants to get $10 million for a house we can’t price it at $10 million,” Healey said.

Healy said the home was built and then recently renovated.

When asked if the first price was incorrect, Healey said, “I don’t think there’s [anything] right or wrong about that.”
